What’s it like to be a Production or Plant Engineer?

Production or plant engineers plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing
activities in industrial plants, including the design, construction,
modification, performance and maintenance of equipment and machinery.

They usually work indoors in factories. They may also spend time in the office
or outdoors if working on construction projects.

How much can I expect to earn?

Full-time employed Production or Plant Engineer earn an average of $1921 per

impairment may make the task dangerous or difficult to perform.

Duties and tasks of a Production or Plant Engineer

Production or plant engineers may perform the following tasks:

  • determine standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance, according to engineering principles and safety regulations
  • inspect plant and machinery to ensure optimum performance
  • direct the maintenance of plant buildings and equipment, and coordinate the requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules
  • prepare contracts and specifications for the construction and acquisition of facilities
  • schedule and plan production activities
  • test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure they are compliant with requirements and specifications.

紧缺职业加分要求,需符合以下资格之一:

  • 荣誉工程学士(土木工程)(NZQF 8级)
  • 工程技术学士(土木工程)(NZQF 7级)
  • 工程技术学士(高速公路工程)(NZQF 7级)
  • 新西兰NZQF 7 学士或360学分以上的包含相关专业课程的更高学历,且为建筑管理或公路工程重点领域专业
  • NZQF 7 研究生或更高文凭,其中包括在建筑管理,公路工程或建筑项目管理重点领域专业得到新西兰研究生文凭。或者在土木工程,公路工程或施工管理重点领域专业得到新西兰NZQF 6 及以上文凭,最低240学分
  • 通过华盛顿协议或悉尼协议获得的土木工程本科(初级)工程学位(见附注)
