加拿大农业食品试点项目（Agri-Food Pilot）是2020年推出的3年试点项目，今年再延期2年至2025年5月14日。2023年8月18日起，该项目两点新变化：
- 农业试点项目下的TEER4,5职业申请人的家庭成员也可以申请开放开放工签了
- 作为移民材料的一部分，推荐信也可以由工会出具；
具体来说，
农业项目下TEER4,5类职业申请人，其家庭成员需要满足以下开放工签申请条件：
- 主申请人的农业食品项目申请已经通过R10完整性审核；在这个阶段，申请人将收到收据确认信，通知他们家庭成员的资格情况。
- 在收到家庭成员的开放工作许可申请时，主申请人的工作许可证至少还有6个月的有效期；
- 家庭成员满足常规的工作许可申请条件，即工作许可到期会离开加拿大，有足够的资金照顾自己和家人，并遵守法律且没有犯罪记录，不会对加拿大的安全构成威胁，身体健康并愿意接受体检，不打算为不合格雇主工作，也不从事违规工作。
For AFP principal applicants in TEER 4 or 5 occupations, their family member is eligible for an OWP if
- the AFP application has passed the R10 completeness check
- At this stage, the applicant will receive the acknowledgement of receipt letter informing them of their family members eligibility.
- the principal applicant’s work permit has at least 6 months’ validity remaining at the time the family member’s OWP application is received
- the family member meets the general eligibility requirements for a work permit
If issuing an OWP, the officer should align the validity of the family member’s work permit to that of the principal applicant’s work permit.
Note: There is no minimum age for open work permits. Minor children still need to apply to obtain an open work permit. Work permit holders, legal guardians and employers are still responsible for following provincial and territorial labour laws, including those of working age.
