I have known Richard Quenton for a total of five years; from early 2002 to late 2007 during which time he worked directly for me as a member of our New Business Sales Team.
During that period I saw Mr. Quenton evolve from sales support specialist to Sales Manager for the North of England and the Midlands. I believe that rapid progression is a testament to Richard’s exceptional creativity and strong analytical skills which make him stand out from his peers.
From his first day on the team, Richard displayed a remarkable sense of maturity that belied the fact that he was the youngest member of the group. He demonstrated exceptional, initiative, creativity and leadership when he spearheaded a successful campaign to sell the Hamilton Terminal to what was considered an unconventional client base.
Richard is a person of high personal integrity who displays an infectious enthusiasm for his job. He has an excellent sense of humor and was well-liked and respected by his peers, colleagues working under him, and clients alike. His gregarious personality, coupled with his excellent speaking skills, made him a popular presenter at our weekly sales meetings. He is also a hardworking self-starter who understands the concept of working as part of a team.
In addition to his superior analytical skills, Richard frequently went out of his way to help members of his team and contributed to the overall success of the department by always being willing to step-up and cover client meetings and lead sales campaigns and client seminars. His ability to get along with people from diverse backgrounds is exceptional, and resulted in the growth of existing accounts, as well as the steady development of a portfolio of new clients. He was named Salesperson of the Month twice in 2006.
The only minor weakness I ever noted in Richard was a tendency to be chronically late for group meetings in his early days with the organization. However, as a result of his conscious efforts to improve in this area, by the time he left the company he had completely overcome this problem.
