RE: Reason For Leaving – Susan Williams
The purpose of this is to explain why Susan Williams left our company after less than one year of employment.
Unfortunately, Susan is an innocent victim of corporate restructuring and downsizing. When we hired Susan as an online advertising specialist 11 months ago we had high hopes that the Internet-based economy would quickly pick up, and that Susan would be a part of our move to the next level in the industry.
Things did not turn around as quickly as we had hoped. So, in August our Board of Directors decided to impose a major restructuring and downsizing program on the online operations of the company, particularly in marketing and advertising. Susan was one of the people in the advertising department with the least amount of seniority, so we had to let her go.
This is to confirm that during the period Susan Williams worked with us we found her performance to be above average. In fact, the head of our advertising department tells me that he would re-hire Susan in a hurry if our fortunes turned around again.
