Requirements for the nominated occupation (for migration purposes): a qualification equivalent to an accredited professional course in architecture from a recognized Australian school of Architecture
Skills Assessment: SUITABLE for the occupation Architect for the purposes of migration to Australia under the General Skilled Migration Categories. This assessment is valid for the period of three (3) years from the date of issue.
You should be aware that if you do migrate to Australia that this assessment does not entitle you to use the title ”Architect" . It is the law in Australia that if you wish to use the title of, or offer services to the public as, an architect, you must be registered. If you wish to be registered in Australia as an architect,
you must satisfy applicable State or Territory registration requirements which include:
1 Obtaining a final assessment of your qualification from AACA after you arrive in Australia to establish whether
2 your qualification can be recognised as equivalent to an approved Australian architectural qualification. Such an assessment will include a personal interview and evaluation of a portfolio of your wok completed during your architectural studies. If, after the final assessment , your qualification is not recognized as being equivalent to an approved Australian architectural qualification, then AACA will recommend that you undertake some further studies within Australia;
2 Completing a period of work experience, generally under the supervision of an architect who is
registered in Australia ; and
3 Undertaking the AACA Architectural Practice Examination .
Upon successful completion of the Architectural Practice Examination you may apply for registration to the Board of Architects in the State or Territory in which you wish to become registered
You should also be aware that this assessment does not automatically entitle you to employment in Australia, nor is it a job offer Employment opportunities vary in Australia, both over time and between States and Territories. It is your responsibility to seek infomation about employment prospects in Australia. Employment vacancies are advertised in the Australian media. Australian newspapers are often available to read at the Australian diplomatic missions. Should migration to Australia be approved, when seeking a final assessment or employment it is essential that all original documents relating to educational qualifications, employment experience, character references and a portfolio of drawing or other materials illustrating work carried out both during and after obtaining academic qualifications are brought to Australia and are available to employers
AUSTRALIAN GENERAL SKILLED MIGRATION POINTS TEST ADVICE ON QUALIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATION
(i) Qualifications

Determination of points under the skilled migration points test remains at the discretion of delegated officers of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection
(ii) Registration
AACA is not able to provide an opinion on registration as no information has been provided by the applicant.
It is recognized that registration is not a prerequisite to the practice of architecture in some countries.
