Advanced Education approved Alberta public and private post-secondary institution

List of Alberta Advanced Education Approved Post-Secondary Credentials For Post-Graduation Work Permit Holders 。

(Admitted and enrolled in your Alberta credential program before April 1, 2019),需要是艾伯塔省高等教育认可的阿省公立和私立高等教育机构(Alberta Advanced Education approved Alberta public and private post-secondary institution)颁发的以下类型的 Alberta Advanced Education 证书:

  • 证书或研究生证书(最短一年) certificate or post-graduate certificate (minimum one year in length)

Alberta post-secondary credential types

Types of publicly-funded institutions

Explore different types of publicly-funded adult learning providers and read their mandates.

If you are admitted and enrolled in your Alberta credential program before April 1, 2019, your credential must be issued by an Alberta Advanced Education approved Alberta public and private post-secondary institution and must be one of the following Alberta Advanced Education approved credentials:

  • role in Alberta’s adult learning system

Mandates are approved by government and shared online.

Alberta’s publicly-funded institutions are organized into different sectors, based on the:

  • range of learning program options they have for students

Independent academic institutions (IAIs)

Although IAIs are partly governed by the Post-secondary Learning Act and work towards the province’s 5 adult learning system principles, they primarily operate under their own legislation. This means that IAIs have different governance and accountability requirements than other publicly-funded post-secondary institutions.

IAIs primarily offer approved degree programming and receive some public funding for programming in:

  • liberal arts
  • science
  • education
  • business

As these institutions offer a blend of publicly-approved and privately-approved programming, they are not required to develop government-approved mandates.
