SASKATCHEWAN IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM (SINP)

Nominated? What to do Next

**Note: Do not dispose of your possessions until after you receive confirmation from Citizenship and Immigration Canada that you will receive an immigration visa.**Qualifying as an SINP Nominee does not guarantee you will be approved for Permanent Residence in Canada. The final decision rests with CIC.

Step 1. Review the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Centralized Intake Office (CIO)Provincial Nominees: How to apply-Application kit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-application.asp

Step 2. Visit the CIC website for instructions on how to apply for a Police Certificate/Clearance for you and any family member over the age of 18 for all countries they have lived in for 6 months or longer since turning 18 years old. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/index.asp

Step 3. Follow the instructions for Photo Specifications included in the Centralized Intake Office application kit. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-application.asp

Step 4. Update the signature and date lines on all federal forms. Update questions 8 and 12 of the Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM5669) form and any other relevant fields where information may have changed. If any changes are made to the validated Generic Application Form for Canada IMM 0008 you must revalidate the form and reprint the barcodes. Place the barcode pages on the top of your application (forms and supporting documents) when you submit it to Citizenship and Immigration Canada. This barcode page will not appear if you fill out your application by hand. It is recommended that you complete the form electronically because it is easier and reduces the risk of errors that can slow down the application process.”

Step 5. Pay Fees. Mail your fully completed application and your fee to the Centralized Intake Office for Provincial Nominee Applications in Sydney, Nova Scotia (Canada).

Step 6. Review the checklist in the Centralized Intake Office Instructions one more time. If you have everything together from the checklist, submit your application to the Centralized Intake Office. Remember to include your SINP nomination letter and to submit the application before your nomination expires. It is your responsibility to ensure your application is received by the Centralized Intake Office

*The Centralized Intake Office will send you correspondence and advise you that your application has been transferred to the appropriate visa office outside of Canada for further processing.

**CIC will contact you directly with any further instructions including to request you to complete your medical examination. Do not have a medical check done until you are requested to do so.

Step 7. If you have a job offer in Saskatchewan, keep in contact with your employer to let them know how your application process is going and when you might arrive in Saskatchewan.

Step 8. Start to prepare yourself to emigrate. You can visit the Going to Saskatchewan website: http://www.gov.sk.ca/move-to-saskatchewan for links to information and services related to living in Saskatchewan such as Finding a Job, Cost of Living, Education, Health Care, Housing, Driver’s Licenses and much more.

English is the main language used in Saskatchewan. If English is not your first language or if you did not take your training in English, you may want to start taking English language classes before you leave your home country.
Speaking the language will help you adjust more easily to your new home.
