“In another word, for your residence application, in addition to the documents specified in the checklist below, you must submit one of the following documents:

  1. International Qualification Assessment (IQA) from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority(NZQA) stating the comparable qualification on New Zealand Qualifications Framework; or
  2. A letter from the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) certifying that your undergraduate qualification and any further learning meet the benchmark requirements towards Chartered Professional Engineer professional status in New Zealand; or
  3. NZ registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer or as an Engineering Technologist by the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand”

“Acceptable authorities include:
consular officials of an Embassy/High Commission or,
government/Municipal officials with the legal right to take official declarations or,
a Notary service with the legal right to take official declarations or with an official Apostille stamp or,
an officer of the court with the legal right to take official declarations or,
a Justice of the Peace with the legal right to take official declarations.”

At least 3 of the following to show you have lived together for at least 12 months; and □ Joint tenancy agreements
Joint ownership of a residential property
Joint mortgage/loan documents
Joint insurance policies
Joint assets/liabilities
bank statements

Qualifications listed (unless an exception is stated) are New Zealand awarded qualifications on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF). Overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification listed. Overseas qualifications therefore require an International Qualification Assessment (IQA) from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority stating the comparable NZQF qualification.

Despite the fact that the List of Qualifications Exempt from Assessment provides that a specified qualification qualifies for certain points, an applicant or an immigration officer (by requesting the applicant to do so) may seek a IQA or QAR of any particular qualification. Where this occurs, the most recent NZQA assessment will prevail.
